H&M is introducing skirts for men in their spring 2010 collection. Also they’re suggesting tights go best with these skirts. We know, its not a new idea. Apart from the historical background of skirts, fashion designers have been daring a peek into men’s skirts for some time now. But what is interesting is that this is H&M that’s doing it. A mass retailer who’s target customers are not some inbred fashion community but the mainstream crowd.

These skirts aren’t really feminine though as you can see. They look more like kilts but it might get the ball rolling towards a more free choice for men in the clothing department. I encourage all men to give it a try. Honestly, if the skirt or kilt did become a mainstream piece of men’s clothing, then it will surely stay there because most men have no idea how much easier life would be wearing a skirt – in more ways than one.

It will be very interesting to see how this goes for H&M. It all depends on how many men buy their skirts this coming season. If it pulls off, then we’ll be seeing a lot more skirts for men.
